![]() ![]() But even if it was a pretty temperate environment, seeing only one with no variation was grating. No desert, snow, ocean, ancient human, etc. We just only saw either forerunner or that lightly forested mountain biome. But one part I will mention is that the weapon sandbox in infinite is less interesting than even halo 4, which is impressive because a lot of the weapons in 4 were mid and you ran out of ammo on anything that wasn’t promethean immediatelyĮdit: I will say that the environment in infinite was pretty. This isn’t even getting into the multiplayer side of things, which I had massive problems with before it even released. The pilot was okay but foehammer was better It’s certainly better than 5, but the only good parts of infinite in a narrative context are just chief and the weapon figuring each other out. You then spend the entire game getting told about how dangerous the endless are but you never really learn anything about them, and in between said missions you go rescue some marines who don’t even react to you suddenly showing up after six months and all of the other Spartans got got. The banished were better than just “covenant 2 ugly boogaloo” but they also didn’t really seem that threatening. Infinite was just you watching chiefs get his ass beat like a little bitch in the first cutscene, and then after floating in space for six months and inexplicably surviving (the battery was clearly dead, so you can’t even make a life support argument) he got plugged in and was immediately ready to go destroy the banished. 4 also dipped its toes into the whole ancient human/forerunner stuff that was hinted at in the previous games, so that was neat even if it was very confusing for most people ![]() I wasn’t big on 4’s campaign but it did give variety in its setting and didn’t kill the most important human ship in the first five minute cutscene. ![]()
